3.1 Essential Cookies — Always Active

These cookies help us understand how visitors use our site so we can improve our content and deal listings. They are only activated with your consent.

Google Analytics data processing: GA4 data is processed by Google LLC in the United States. Google’s data processing is governed by Google’s privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.

We use Google Analytics in consent mode — Google Analytics does not activate until you have given analytics consent on our cookie banner.

3.3 Functional / Preference Cookies — Require Consent

These cookies personalise your experience and are only activated with your consent. They include preferences such as your category filters, deal view settings, and notification preferences.

4. Supabase Behavioural Analytics

In addition to cookies, we collect anonymous behavioural data through Supabase — our data platform. This includes:

    • Pages visited on our site
    • Deals clicked
    • Search queries entered
    • Device type (mobile or desktop)
    • How you arrived at our site (referral source)
    • An anonymous session identifier (not linked to your identity)

This data is stored in our Supabase database. Supabase uses Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure and data may be processed in the United States. This data helps us improve our deal recommendations and Deal Truth Score methodology. If you are logged in to a Discount Offers account, this data may be associated with your account.

Supabase behavioural data is retained for 24 months.

5. Affiliate Tracking Cookies

When you click an affiliate link on Discount Offers and visit a retailer’s website, that retailer and their affiliate network may place their own tracking cookies on your device to track whether a purchase was made and to process our commission.

When you leave Discount Offers and visit a retailer’s website, that retailer’s own privacy policy and cookie policy apply. These retailer cookies are entirely outside our control and are governed by the retailer’s own cookie policy. Retailers we link to include major Australian retailers whose cookie policies are available on their respective websites.

6. How to Manage and Control Cookies

6.1 Our Cookie Consent Banner

When you first visit Discount Offers you will see a cookie consent notice. You have two options:

  • “Accept All” — enables essential, analytics, and functional cookies
  • “Essential Only” — enables only essential cookies; analytics and functional cookies remain disabled

Important: Disabling essential cookies will prevent you from logging in to your Discount Offers account and using saved deals, price alerts, and your watchlist.

Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” signal to websites. Discount Offers does not currently respond to Do Not Track signals as there is no industry-wide standard for their interpretation.

You can achieve a similar outcome by selecting “Essential Only” on our cookie banner, which disables all non-essential tracking.

To the extent that cookies used on our site collect personal information (such as IP addresses or information linked to your account), that information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and the Australian Privacy Principles.
